WarMatch (retired)

WarMatch, the cloud-backed PBEM service in WarHQ, has been retired. The hosted service is shut down, so sign-in, player discovery, looking-for-game posts, chat, and automatic turn exchange are no longer available. WarHQ 3.5.2 and later do not show WarMatch at all.

This page stays online because older WarHQ builds link to it.

What still works

Everything local is unaffected:

• Game discovery and the Library for launching your installed Wargame Design Studio titles.
• PBEM Box for local and email PBEM: turn import, opponent assignment, file history, watch-folder monitoring, and completed-turn detection.
• Email draft help through your Windows default mail app.
• Update checks through GitHub Releases.

If you were mid-game on WarMatch

Your turn files are still on your computer in each game’s saves folder. Continue those games by email using PBEM Box:

1. Update to the latest WarHQ from the download link.
2. Open PBEM Box from the Library toolbar.
3. Assign the opponent to the existing turn files so filename matching and the Send to field work.
4. Send and receive turns as email attachments from then on.

Files that WarMatch managed are hidden from PBEM Box by design, so re-import a received turn with Import Turn if a thread does not appear.
